Ink is a longtime interest of mine (calligraphy since childhood; asemic writing etc. since China, basically). All calligraphy or marks pictured here are my own. Photographs are 35mm and polaroid. Did you know that the scent of ink has on occasion been mistaken for a lingering perfume?

Please be lenient in your viewing. These photographs are prints from my collection which have been scanned and appear here without editing, which means that drops of linseed oil and creases will be present here as they are in life.

birdness|blindness a symphony|deflection was a piece performed in April 2015. This piece was made in collaboration with Ava Chen, Euree Kim, Keenan Benshop, Johanne Laache, John Lincoln-Vogel, and Tanya Hong. I myself did not perform but rather orchestrated the piece in conversation with the performers, continually feeding them prompts that took the form of costumes, props, sound recordings, poetic scores and descriptions of personae. Also responsible for costumes: Johanne Laache and John Lincoln-Vogel. Music and timing: John Lincoln-Vogel. Photographs are 35mm black&whites and polaroids.

'squash' may be a temporary name for a piece that was made in a YMCA racquetball court with my sister, Kirsten Murray, in 2012. In the piece we set out to unhinge, with the result that certain revulsions were diagrammed in a dance. I made the clothing that appears in the piece and provided Kirsten with written and musical performance prompts. Kirsten is the one you see here, dancing or having a fit. Photographs are 35mm black&white and color.
